We are so excited to welcome these little Creme Puffs to our homestead. This has been our first successful litter produced here and we have another doe due in next week!
We first purchased our breeding trio last Spring. Our buck was sold to us at 8 weeks old and was not quite ready for breeding. The heat set in right as he was coming into breeding age but we did not want to breed our does in the peak of the summer heat.
As we got into cooler temps, we tried to get our Cremes into production. Many failed attempts lead me to research and troubleshoot what could be wrong. Our does were a bit overweight and that was affecting their fertility. After we put them on a slimming diet, we were FINALLY able to have success!
It’s been a long wait and I have been binge watching alllll of the informational videos I have seen on Creme D’Argent breed preservation. I am thrilled to be starting evaluations soon and getting my herd up to par with the ARBA Standard of Perfection.
I will hopefully be able to show these little ones this fall.
